Good vs Evil, Part 2

Good, such a broad and yet overall uplifting term. Meant to inspire the best in people, and only to serve the best intentions. But there is a darker side to the world of good. I will get into that in a bit, but for now, I want to focus on the positive side of good. First the definition. Again we hear from Webster's dictionary...

1 a (1) : of a favorable character or tendency (2) : bountiful, fertile (3) : handsome, attractive b (1) : suitable, fit (2) : free from injury or disease (3) : not depreciated (4) : commercially sound (5) : that can be relied on (6) : profitable, advantageous c (1) : agreeable, pleasant (2) : salutary, wholesome (3) : amusing, clever d (1) : of a noticeably large size or quantity : considerable (2) : full (3) —used as an intensive e (1) : well-founded, cogent (2) : true (3) : deserving of respect : honorable (4) : legally valid or effectual f (1) : adequate, satisfactory —often used in faint praise (2) : conforming to a standard (3) : choice, discriminating (4) : containing less fat and being less tender than higher grades —used of meat and especially of beef
2 a (1) : virtuous, right, commendable
(2) : kind, benevolent

Wow, is it just me, or is there a lot more that is directly referenced in order to be good than evil? A lot more encompassed in order to be good as well. Lets get started, cause this is going to take a while. A favorable character or tendency, it seems a lot of those that claim to do and be good are lacking that, see Krampus, Mixsae. Bountiful, fruitful, definitely don't want to think of that, certainly not fruitful in their efforts, that is for sure, in all senses then i guess the RLSh have that when their junk and their guts are poking out of their teeny tights. Handsome, attractive, well looks like a lot of you guys lost out on that one... Suitable and fit, definitely not especially in that context. Free from injury or disease, well in this instance, that also does not work, because at any given moment, anyone can be sick, and then they definitely are not going to be good, so that one does not apply. Not depreciated, well the numbers speak for themselves, quantity at this point over quality. Commercially sound, well for all those out there trying to turn themselves into a TV show, Ahem, Motor Mouth, Zetaman; then sure that works good for them, but not necessarily for the common good.

Can be relied on, well in that case, yes you are good, you are very reliable to give the public fodder to poke fun at your incompetence, and for walking the streets late at night, going in circles and circles, as weekend warriors like the National Guard reserves, never really doing anything, but acting like you matter. Profitable and advantageous, see above for the glory hounds, now if attention and profit were obtained through providing an actual service, like I don't know helping solve a real police case, then that is a different story and you are excluded from that. Agreeable and pleasant, okay, here I can give it to a lot but not all of the RLSH, many are very pleasant in their discourse and respect everyone they come in contact with, agreeable, again some, but not all, it is honestly expected that there will be disagreements, it is only human nature to take differing views when it comes to any kind of matter, that I cannot hold against anyone just because of differing viewpoint. Salutary, wholesome, again, most but not all fall into that, there are many wholesome people out there doing truly great work for the betterment of others, and they are to be commended, I will never be one to take true goodhearted intentions away from those out to accomplish them.

Of a noticeably large size or quantity, well that one is just a cheap shot. But there sure are a lot of RLSH out there, again quantity is there over their quality. Full, yes of themselves. When used as an intensive, reiterated, yes there are a good many of you. Well founded, cogent, yes your intentions are good in that sense, but gone about in totally the wrong way. True, yes many of you are pure of heart, many of you are in your line of work for the right reasons, so yes I will give that to those that deserve it. Deserving of respect, and honor... Yeah, definitely not, again for the most of you. If you go out seeking honor and expect respect for what you do, then you are out for the wrong reasons, it means you need to learn humility. Legally valid or effectual, technically you could say you guys are, but then again we have yet to see any real results. Adequate or satisfactory, sure, Ill give that to you. Conforming to a standard, sure you all strive for that, but few have achieved it or remain there.

Choice, discriminating, hahahahaha, what did I say before? Containing less fat and being less tender than higher grade, that is both right and wrong. Here we go, this is what I have been waiting for the grand finale, virtuous, right, commendable, sure why not, many of you try and become that higher standard of right, to become something more than just men wearing ridiculous outfits in public, again there are many of you out there trying to make a real and lasting difference, and you are the ones setting the right example, you are the ones that need to be followed, not just those that are most popular, not just those that are most infamous in the online community, it is important to sort out those that can take a lead and set the best example to follow. Kind and benevolent, see before, they both apply in the same fashion, it is important to lead a good example, to lead by doing right, to be a shining light to those that do not have one, those that are the right examples, the good examples need to take their place and lead those that need to be taught, in order to do the most good, the right kind of people have to show the rest of the world and public what good can be done.

Tell me where in that it says you cannot be a villain and still accomplish good? It may be the opposite of evil, but a lot of the intentions of being good can lead to bad things. That will be the subject of my next article.

  1. Virus,

Thank you again - very well thought out. You seem to have a talent for writing, and this ability can take you far in any field you wish to pursue.

Villainy needs a health plan! One imagines we have a plethora of nutritional/healthy/exercise information. We can do ANYthing, because, among other things, we're cool (because we're Evil).

Can you (or anyone) think of three qualities we should attempt to foster? Evil qualities to be sure, but qualities we may hold ourselves to. Superior, Ruthless, Imaginative, Defiant, Sneaky, etc.

Thank you again for this thoughtful analysis,

  2. Thank you LM, as always great to hear from you. On the subject of qualities that RLSV should have, these three come to mind Intelligent, Ruthless, and Imaginative. None of which are directly related to any kind of violence or threats or murder, just to make sure that is cleared up. Yet again.
